교수소개

1978년 서울대학교 섬유공학과에서 학사학위, 1983년 미국 Georgia Institute
of Technology, School of Textiles에서 석사학위, 1989년 North Carolina
State University, Fiber & Polymer Science Program에서 박사학위를 취득하
였다. 미국 농부성 북부지역연구소에서 1년 4개월 근무한 후 1990년 9월 섬유
공학과 교수로 부임하였다. 담당과목은 유기화학, 섬유가공학, 섬유기기분석,
계면화학 등이며, 보호복 분야, 폴리에스터 공중합과 무기미립자를 이용한 섬
유가공에 관한 연구를 수행하고 있다. 2005년 보호복연구소를 설립하고 보호
복 관련 ISO활동을 하고 있으며, 지식경제부 중기거점과제, "첨단 방호.보호기
능 섬유소재 및 제품개발(2006-2011)"의 총괄책임자 및 세부과제 책임자로서
Kolon, 휴비스, 산청, 한국생산기술연구원 등과 함께 연구를 수행하였다.
2010년 아시아보호복학회를 창설하여 일본, 중국, 대만 등의 연구자들과 함께
활동하고 있으며, 보호복 분야 ISO 국제회의의 한국 대표로 활동하고 있다.
