식품영양학과

교수소개

미국 Cornell University 박사 과정에서 지역사회 영양 문제 진단, 문제 개선을 위한 프로그램 및 정책 개발 관련 프로젝트를 수행하였다. 국제적으로 중요한 이슈인 식생활 불평등 문제의 식품 미보장(food insecurity)이 건강에 미치는 영향 및 이에 대한 중재 프로그램의 효과 연구로 박사 학위를 받았고, 이에 대한 결과는 해외 우수 논문에 발표되었다. 귀국 후, 한양대학교 의과대학 예방의학교실에서 연구 교수, 보건복지부 질병관리본부에서 책임 연구원으로 있으면서 다수의 국가 프로젝트에 참여하였다. 주요 연구 내용은 영양불량 및 대사적 불균형에 의해 야기되는 질병 발생의 기전 파악 및 질병 발생 관련 식이섭취요인들을 구명하고, 영양문제에 대한 중재 연구의 효과 연구를 통하여 근거 중심의 체계적인 임상영양 서비스를 마련하고자 한다.

교육철학

범람하는 정보 시대에 예전과 같이 암기로 인한 지식 쌓기로는 문제 해결이 되지 않는다. 따라서 지식을 전달하고 이를 암기하는 학습 방식에서 벗어나 학생들이 정보를 찾고 적용하는 방법을 통해 문제 해결 역량을 가지도록 하는 것이 중요하다. 이론과 지식은 최소한의 설명을 하고 실질적으로 현장에서 적용 가능한 사례에 대한 문제 해결 내용으로 수업을 구성하고자 한다. 문제 해결은 개인 한 명보다는 여러 명의 협력으로 더욱 좋은 결과물을 도출할 수 있다. 그러므로 조별 활동을 통한 역할 분담과 책임 의식, 사회관계를 통한 문제 해결을 도모하고자 한다.
