About Acting & Filmmaking

The Department of Acting & Filmmaking at Dankook University’s Primus International College is an undergraduate program exclusively designed for international students. It was established in response to the growing global demand for media content education and the rising international interest in Korea’s visual media industry. At a time when Korean films and dramas—collectively known as K-Content—are capturing the world’s attention and occupying a central place in the global media market, this department enables students to experience Korea’s advanced production environment firsthand and to grow into creative professionals capable of working in the international content industry through a hands-on, practice-based curriculum.

The department operates under two specialized tracks: Acting, which focuses on training students to express themselves effectively on stage and in front of the camera, and Filmmaking, which centers on creating visual content such as films and dramas. Accordingly, the curriculum is divided into acting and filmmaking courses, with each reflecting the technical demands and unique nature of its respective field. While these two tracks are distinct, the department encourages students to embrace their intersection, aiming to cultivate well-rounded, integrated artists. When actors understand the production process and creators grasp the essence of performance, artistic language becomes more expansive.

Through an education that balances practice with creativity, and integrates technology with imagination, the Department of Acting & Filmmaking nurtures the next generation of international artists—equipping them to thrive in a rapidly evolving cultural world. This department is more than just a place to learn acting or filmmaking—it is where students discover their artistic voices and create new narratives for a global audience.
